Are we being led by applications? Are some of the newer Web 2.0/social networking tools just fads? Can they really enhance learning and teaching and institutional Web services?
It might be worthwhile looking at some of the older Web 2.0 and social networking applications as well. I'm not sure if there are any failed Web 2.0 technologies, but it would be interesting to see if anyone has bought in to one which is now considered worthless.
might be good for some kind of breakout/feedback/discussion section. baloon debate even. everyone is a champion of their own favourites; and there's good and bad in all apps, from sl to twitter, but can we objectively evaluate and prioritise them?
